On 22 September 2020, a Round Table was held within the Project Upskilling Pathways at the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
It is a first one in a series of round tables on the Project. It offered an opportunity to present the results of the latest implemented project activity – testing of candidates, i.e. the assessment of their language, numerical and digital skills and knowledge through standardized testing, conducted by the Institute for Education Quality and Evaluation.
It is important to note that prior to the testing, a research was conducted to deliver the self- evaluation of candidates. The Round Table was also a chance to consider the differences between the self-evaluation and the real assessment of the participants’ knowledge. Furthermore, the meeting helped to define, in principle, a training programme, as well as a pilot group.
The provision of useful training to the target group is essential, and it should cover the gaps in their knowledge, especially when it comes to skills, and thus make their everyday life easier and bring them closer to the labour market.
