On 16 June 2020, the kick-off conference for the project Upskilling Pathways: New opportunities for work-skills development for adults in Republic of Serbia was held, which was organized by the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs.
The participants were welcomed by Assistant Minister Mirjana Ćojbašić on behalf of the Ministry and partners, National Employment Service and Faculty of Political Sciences. She then proceeded with a brief introduction of the main project objectives and implementation plan.
Kristina Đurić, the Project Manager, talked about the EU directives related to lifelong learning programmes, and about comparative practice in European countries.
Tanja Ilić, a representative of the National Employment Service, presented the state of affairs in the labour market in our country in relation to the target group of the Project, existing needs, and initiatives which are being implemented and which should be implemented in order to train and employ people with low qualifications.
Representatives of the EPALE national support team were also present at the kick-off conference, and they presented the platform and models for future cooperation, which are aimed at Project promotion and implementation of activities.
Since the kick off conference was held somewhat later in the process than usual, an opportunity arose to present the first results of the Project implementation. Thus, Srđan Bogosavljević of Ipsos research agency, presented the results of the secondary research conducted for the Project, and familiarized the participants with the method for conducting the ongoing primary research, which entails surveys of the target group.
Apart from the representatives of the coordinator and partners, and the aforementioned organizations, the participants included representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, Institute for Improvement of Education, Institute for Education Quality and Evaluation, Qualifications Agency, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, and Serbian Association of Employers.
